A fun filled evening with a load of information! Unveiling of the “2015-2020 Elevate the Museum” donor plaque and introducing the $500,000 IHMAC Captial Improvements and Sustainability Campaign. A great opportunity to learn about preservation of the Nationally Registered Federal Building: US Post Office and hear about improvements to the IHMAC. The IHMAC Gallery becomes the Meadowlark Lounge for this evening hosting singers and songwriters in a live interactive performance of original music and the telling of stories behind the songs. Admission is $20. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 620-331-3515.
Celebrate the IHMAC Federal Building’s 110th birthday. Construction of the building, that was to become the US Post Office, began in 1911 opening to the public on May 28, 1912. The mail sorting room is used as the IHMAC gallery and plays host to exhibits, social gathering, and concerts. The gallery is open and free to the public.

The annual "IHMAC Spring Tea" gala will be held on Sunday, March 6 at 1 p.m. in the IHMAC Gallery. Tea, hors d'oeuvres, and deserts will be served. A silent auction will be held and live musical entertainment will be provided. Table sponsors will compete for the best-decorated table. Tablespaces are limited! Admission is $20 per person. Rex Buchanan is Director Emeritus of the Kansas Geological Survey and recently co-authored the Kansas Notable Book “Petroglyphs of the Kansas Smoky Hills.” His presentation “Water, Energy, and Rural Kansas: How They’re Connected, What the Future May Hold,” explores the complex relationship between natural resources, renewable energy sources, public land access, and population trends in both rural and urban areas. This presentation encourages people to consider the value of their natural surroundings in securing the best future for generations to come. This event is open to the public and is Free.

CLIMATE & ENERGY CENTRAL PRESENTATION & DISCUSSION
Dr. Isaias McCaffery is a history professor at Independence Community College and is past president (and a present board member) of the Kansas Association of Historians. He authored “Wi Leahre Plautdietsch: A Beginner’s Guide to Mennonite Low German,” which was published in 2009. His presentation on “Environmental History of Montgomery County: Lessons for Our Climate Future” will be in the IHMAC Gallery and free to the public.
This traveling exhibition features Kansas scientists who are working together to address the grand challenges of renewable energy and potential climate change. Gallery admission is free.
